The Wolfacher Heimatmuseum was opened in 1937 and is one of the oldest in the region. In a complex renovation project, the rooms were largely restored to the state of construction of the castle (1671 - 81). The visitor now gets an impression of the beauty of this former festival hall of the former lords of the castle. The Wolfacher Stadtgeschichte exhibition has been completely redesigned. Special showpiece is a model of the city of 1560. Looking into the medieval dungeon inside the 'hunger tower', some visitors still have goose bumps on their backs. In the former castle kitchen the Kinzig rafting is housed as an independent department. This traditional trade, once a Wolfacher privilege, is represented by woodcutting to rafting itself and ancillary trades such as wieden making. Also Reisemitbringsel the raftsmen are to be seen. A film explains the hard work of the raftsmen, whose profession was made superfluous 100 years ago by the railway.
