Aero is a renewable energy island. The island is situated in the southern archipelago of Denmark, Northern Europe and has for the past 30 years worked actively to encourage the use of renewable sources. In 1983 a group of investors established the company Aero Wind Energy in the south-west of the island. Aeroe Wind Energy build a windmill park in 1985. It was the time largest wind farm with 11 turbines, each 55 kW.
