The south area of the dominican capital Santo Domingo City has a valuable natural resource and environmental preservation the Parque Mirador del Sur. The Parque Mirador del Sur is the lung for the biggest city of the country and its main road become each day a distraction and recreation for this area. The road is close for traffic from 6am to 9am and 4pm to 8pm daily and turn it to a protected area.
This park was designed by arquitect Eugenio Pérez Montás. El Mirador del Sur has an extended length of several kilometers. The park runs parallel to the coast line. From there you have a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the largest green areas of the city, a balcony of 8 km long that overlooks the Caribbean Sea, ideal for walking, jogging, biking and much more.
