In Pedernales you will find a beach that for most Dominicans is the best in the country: Bahía de las Águilas (Eagle Bay). Although nearby Cabo Rojo beach should not be disparaged; both have very fine white sands and shallow waters. You can reach Bahía de las Águilas by boat or by going down a very steep and trechearous incline that can be accomplished on a four wheel drive vehicle, with an experienced driver.
