History: Ion Gheorghe Duca was prime minister of Romania from November 14 to December 30, 1933, when he was assassinated for his efforts to suppress the fascist Iron Guard movement. These efforts brought about his assassination on the train station platform in Sinaia. Apart for his impressive political career, Duca helped bring Scouting to Romania. He wrote extensive memoirs about his experiences as a cabinet minister during World War I, which were edited by his son, George, while at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in the 1970s and 1980s.
