Nativity Cathedral , Chisinau , Moldova

Nativity Cathedral in Chisinau was built in 1836 by architect Abraham Melnikov . It is built of stone and brick , with three altars : the main one ( the Nativity of the Lord ) and two sides ( the right one dedicated to St. Martyr Nikita and left with the patron Saint John the New , which were later established St. Alexander Nevski Cathedral has a symmetrical composition . The ensemble is made up of the cathedral church and steeple . Nativity Cathedral is located near the market and belongs to the Grand National Assembly of the Moldovan Orthodox Church (subordinated the Russian Orthodox Church ) . The first radio station in Chisinau , Radio Bessarabia , was officially opened by sending liturgy in the cathedral on October 8, 1939 .
