Pantheon of the Fatherland ( Former Jesuit Church ) PLAZA Maria de Toledo . OPEN MONDAY TO SUNDAY 8:00 AM At 5:45 P.M. ATTRACTIVE : CHANGING OF THE GUARD AT NOON . FREE ENTRY . Formerly belonged to the Society of Jesus , completed in 1755. Church is popularly known as the Jesuits. Religious Lost in 1772 when the Jesuits were expelled from the Spanish dominions . The last restoration , in 1961 , became the National Pantheon , where famous figures are buried in Dominican history .
