The pier Märkisches Ufer is the starting point for boat trips and steamboat rides through Berlin's city center. Behind the jetty extends the listed Köllnische Park with the Märkisches Museum, which exhibits exhibits on the history and cultural history of Berlin from the Middle Ages to the present day. From Märkisches Platz, a small green area with shady trees in front of the Märkisches Museum, take a few steps down to the Spree. From the pier there, the excursion boats start over the Spree and Landwehrkanal towards the historic city center and the government district. The Märkisches Ufer pier is close to the Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn and U-Bahn station. Not far away are the Museumsinsel and the Nikolaiviertel, the historical center of Berlin. The steamboat drives towards the city center all pass by.
